Day 151 -- Allahabad to Satna to Khajuraho

So I don't like Allahabd. And I left early in the morning for the 8.30 train to Satna, from which I would catch a bus to Khajuraho.

I woke up half an hour later than I was supposed to, and rushed through my skincare regime (because Mr bf always complain I'm too dark, I have to apply loads of sunblock before leaving guesthouse every morning)

Went to settled the bill at the reception and they charge me 10% tax!! Which was unheard of in other hotels but I didn't have the luxury of time to argue. I was rushing to be in time for the train. Made it to the station at 8.10am and was real worried Imight not get a ticket. Well, in China, this is highly possible.

I went directly to the general class counter (unreserved seats) and bought a ticket to Satna , 181 km for 59RS. Sweet deal. But as I boarded the train, I did not go to the general class coach, instead I headed to the sleeper coach for which I'm very sure there'll be seats. If someone come around checking tickets, I can bribe him like giving 20 RS. (SOmebody taught me, I didn't pick this uo myself!)

And true enough, the conductor made his rounds and told me my ticket is a general class, I act blur and ask "So should i get off now?" And he just shook his head the Indian way and say "Sit, nevermind." I din't even pay him extra. Haha.

ANd the good thing about it is that everyone around me knows that I'm going Satna. so when we are nearing the station, they sort of simultaneously pointed to me that this is Satna station. Was grateful because the Indian trains do not have announcements and it would be terrible to miss the stop.

So i hopped off the train at Satna, took autocycle rickshaw to bus station and driver was hgelpful, I told him to keep the change. Bus to Khajuraho was jam-packed but it didn't really bother me since I got a seat.

And 11km from Khajuraho, someone jumped on thhe bus and came for me, the tourist, directly. Normally I would have ignored such touts, but he gave me a hotel card that says "Hotel Zen", aha I'm interested. SO that's where I'm staying now.

And just a note to myself, the food there is ultra expensive, never eat there again!!
